Smiles and Success at Stoke Park’s First Winter Inclusion Games

Stoke Park Active, with the support of Stoke Park Trust, held its first Winter Inclusion Games in late February.

A total of 26 competitors with learning disabilities, autism and other additional needs from Berkshire and Buckinghamshire travelled to Slough to take part in four events: New Age Kurling, Boccia, Darts and Pool Target.

The day was made possible by the support of 11 dedicated volunteers, who helped ensure the event ran smoothly and created a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

Organisers hope the Winter Inclusion Games will become a regular event, complementing the already successful annual Sports Day held each September.

The event was delivered free of charge, helping to increase opportunities for people in the disability community to take part in sport and enjoy friendly competition.

The joy of the day was clear to see in the smiles of the winners.

Mansoor Ali, who won gold in Boccia, said:
“I couldn’t believe it. I am so happy.”
