The Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Partnership brought together 45 participants on Thursday 11th September for an inspiring event at Maidenhead Synagogue, celebrating collaboration and the power of working together.

The day opened with a lively speed networking session, where attendees had just five minutes to connect with each new face. The fast-paced format created an electric atmosphere, sparking fresh ideas and opportunities for collaboration across the sector.

The spotlight then turned to local initiatives making a real difference. Maidenhead Bridge Rotary showcased the historic Boundary Walk, with Eddie Piekut underlining its role in fostering community spirit while raising vital funds. Jon Davey followed with an update on the I Love Windsor initiative, highlighting the launch of new printed Community Directories for Windsor and Maidenhead — valuable resources for residents and organisations alike.

Another highlight came from the team behind the inaugural Windsor & Eton Pride, who shared a heartfelt account of its journey from vision to success. Their story illustrated the power of grassroots organisation and the joy of creating inclusive spaces for the community.

The event also marked the official launch of the Partnership Community & Voluntary 2025 Awards, which will celebrate individuals and groups making an extraordinary impact across the region.

As the gathering drew to a close, organisers reflected on a fitting quote often used by WAM Get Involved: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

The morning served as a powerful reminder that when communities unite, they don’t just share knowledge and resources — they multiply their impact.
