This week, Rosanne and James from Slough CVS joined fellow leaders and strategic partners at the Mental Health Act Detentions (MHAD) Project All-Partnership Conference. Hosted by Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the NHS Race and Health Observatory, the conference focused on tackling the overrepresentation of Black individuals in mental health detentions across Berkshire.
Rosanne provided an important update on the ongoing work of the MHAD project, reinforcing the collective commitment to driving meaningful change.
Yvonne Mhlanga, Programme Manager for Mental Health Detentions at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, reflected on the event:
“The energy in the room was electric—unifying lived experience experts, health and social care professionals, police, voluntary sector leaders, and academics for real change. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, challenged, and championed this vital conversation. The work continues, and together, we’re making progress.”
Slough CVS remains dedicated to working alongside partners to ensure a fairer, more equitable approach to mental health support in our community.
