Over 100 carers, professionals and community representatives came together for the Carers Forum and Networking Afternoon Tea at the Moxy Hotel in Slough on Wednesday 24th September, to connect, share experiences, and explore the support available locally.

Attendees had the opportunity to browse a variety of information stalls, including the Slough CVS Wellbeing at Home Project and Community Connectors, Debt and Welfare Team (SBC), Asian Carers, Cippenham Carers, Without Shape Without Form, and the Amina Khayyam Dance Company.

On arrival, carers were welcomed with hot and cold drinks and luxury biscuits, followed by a traditional afternoon tea featuring freshly prepared sandwiches, pastries, cakes, fruit, and cheese platters.

The programme also featured two engaging presentations: one showcasing the launch of the new Carers UK digital platform, designed to make support more accessible, and another focusing on mental health, wellbeing, and healing.

Reflecting on the event, Ramandeep Gogna, Carers Lead at Slough Borough Council, said:
“It was inspiring to see so many carers and community partners come together. Events like this are about more than just information—they are about connection, support, and recognising the vital role carers play in our community.”

Cippenham Carers Lead, Zhora Jefferies added: “Carers had a wonderful time at the Moxy Hotel enjoying the Carers Forum where there were many groups in attendance and lots of delicious food to eat. Cippenham Carers enjoyed every bit of it.”
