Arbour Park Football Stadium comes alive with different cultures and age groups

AfroCaribbean Heritage Society (Thames Valley), in collaboration with group volunteer, Alan Paris (A P Sporting Enterprise), organised a football tournament and social event on Sunday 7th July.

The event was supported by Slough Safer Partnership, various organisations and local sponsors, bringing Arbour Park Football Stadium (home to Slough Town Football Club) alive with different cultures and age groups.

Children and young people took part in football tournaments in the morning, followed by a veterans match later in the day. Participants and spectators enjoyed a passionate high energy day, with spirited and competitive matches throughout the day, including Africa vs Caribbean and Anguilla vs St Kitts & Nevis.

Congratulations to the 2025 community champions winners: Singh Sabha, Team Africa and St Kitts & Nevis.

Joycelyn John, from the AfroCaribbean Heritage Society said, “A huge thanks to all the stall holders who bought flavour, creativity, and vibrancy to the day as your presence added so much to the extraordinary experience. A huge shout out to Steveoss (Love Music Hate Violence) and crew for keeping the vibes alive on the decks throughout the day.

An extra special thank you to all the amazing volunteers, friends, families and supporters who came to watch the matches, who cheered on all the teams.”

The event was highly successful with a fantastic turnout of about 350 people who contributed to the incredible energy and strong sense of community cohesion.

The event marked the end of the 2025 community football season and the group are now reflecting on the positive feedback and focusing on planning events for the next season, to bring the community together.
