As the crescent moon signaled the arrival of Eid, two vibrant community events in Slough brought people together in celebration, warmth, and shared joy—each offering its own unique atmosphere, while reflecting the same spirit of togetherness.

Slough Modest Sisters hosted a beautifully curated Chaand Raat that felt both intimate and uplifting. Organised by co-founders Sima and Roshy, alongside Asma from Her Aura, the evening welcomed attendees into a relaxed and friendly space filled with shopping, delicious food, and heartfelt connection. It was more than just a pre-Eid gathering—it was a celebration of community, creativity, and modest fashion.

Meanwhile, the Be Yourself Community brought a larger-scale celebration to Baylis House with their Grand Chaand Raat, transforming the venue into a lively hub of festivity. Stalls lined the space with an array of food, henna, clothing, jewellery, and Eid decorations, offering something for everyone. Families gathered as children enjoyed a range of activities, from a bouncy castle to games and creative competitions including canvas painting, cupcake decorating, and naat and surah recitals. The presence of Mayoress Julie Siddique further added to the sense of occasion and community pride.
