Youngsters in Slough over the age of five have been queuing up to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Salt Hill Park Vaccination Centre in Slough. Staff and volunteers there have made it a much more inviting space with bubble machines, Spiderman posters, games and even a colouring wall.
One family that has made the decision to vaccinate all members is Jason, Rosanne and Castielle who between them have managed to have every COVID-19 vaccination made available to them, including 6-year-old Castielle who had her first jab as soon as it was offered to her age group recently.
Slough resident and mother Rosanne said, “We asked Castialle if she would like to have the vaccination and she did agree to it, however if she wasn’t comfortable with it, we would have sat her down and spoken to her about the vaccine and it may have been delayed until she was comfortable. It was really important for her to understand why it is vital to have and the protection it offers.”
Castielle said, “I had the vaccine so I can’t spread germs to other people, and they get sick.”
Rosanne added “She was quite excited to get a vaccine. Castielle had the jab at the Slough Vaccination Centre on Bath Road, Salt Hill in Slough. The people were very nice there and it was all over very quickly. She even got a sticker for being good”.
It is so important that the whole family gets vaccinated, so bring along older siblings too. The vaccine is available for everyone over the age of 5.
