Community Connectors from Slough CVS were delighted to take part in a vibrant and well-organised Crossroads Carers event held this week in Langley. The event brought together carers and community members for a day filled with connection, entertainment, and valuable support.
Slough Community Transport played a key role in ensuring accessibility by providing transport for several disabled attendees, helping make the event inclusive for all.
The day began with a warm welcome over tea, coffee, and snacks, allowing attendees to settle in and connect with one another. As the Rah Rah Theatre Company prepared for their performance, guests enjoyed a range of puzzles and games, setting a relaxed and cheerful tone for the afternoon.
The theatre performance was a definite highlight—engaging, lively, and enjoyed by a large audience. It sparked laughter, conversation, and a shared sense of joy among attendees.
The event concluded with a classic and well-received fish and chips lunch, providing a comforting and familiar meal for all.
Throughout the day, Community Connectors actively engaged with attendees, sharing information about their project and highlighting the importance of social prescribing in improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and connecting people to local support networks.
Events like this showcase the power of community in action—bringing people together, raising awareness, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of carers and those they support.
