Slough Community Forum – End of Year Celebration Brings Energy, Connection, and Community Spirit

On Wednesday, we were delighted to host our Slough Community Forum – End of Year Celebration at the Singh Sabha Slough Sports Centre, and what a celebration it turned out to be. With more than 50 stands from local groups and organisations and a steady stream of enthusiastic visitors throughout the day, the atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of community pride.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience a range of interactive workshops and demonstrations. St John’s Ambulance delivered an engaging session on how to perform a lifesaving tourniquet, offering attendees valuable practical skills. Meanwhile, #OneSlough Award-winning group Sanchari House of Dance filled the room with energy, getting everyone on their feet and joining in.

Over at the SCVS Wellbeing at Home stand, guests enjoyed a slow-cooking demonstration complete with delicious samples—bringing both warmth and flavour to the event.

Above all, the celebration showcased the strength and unity of our local voluntary sector. It was a day dedicated to connection, collaboration, and recognising the incredible work happening across Slough.

Reflecting on the event, Asma Aziz, CEO of Slough CVS, shared her thoughts:

“A fantastic opportunity for our voluntary organisations and charities to connect with residents, volunteers, and partners, showcasing the range of community services on offer that makes Slough thrive! A wonderful chance to celebrate the amazing work of our community groups at the end of 2025… I say bring on 2026… we are going to share with the world the impact our Slough communities make when we come together!”

The Slough Community Forum continues to be a shining example of what is possible when people, passion, and purpose unite—and this year’s celebration has set an inspiring tone for the year ahead.
