On Wednesday, 24th September, Jamie Green, Chairman of Slough CVS, welcomed representatives from voluntary sector groups, statutory bodies, and the Deputy Mayor of Slough, Councillor Neel Rana, to the organisation’s Annual General Meeting at Windsor Castle.

Asma Aziz, CEO of Slough CVS, set the tone by encouraging everyone to smile before taking the audience on a journey through the organisation’s remarkable 93-year history. She highlighted the charity’s key priorities and celebrated the achievements delivered over the past year.

The event also featured an inspiring speech from Meena Kalsi, Founder of Community Calm, who praised Slough CVS for supporting her in establishing her group and described the extraordinary impact it has had on local communities. Meena also shared the story of Kate O’Cock, a volunteer introduced to her group through Slough CVS after completing the Volunteer Passport training. She described their partnership as a “match made in heaven.”

The meeting concluded with a financial update from Interim Treasurer, Tom Conlin, who presented the organisation’s accounts. Guests then enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch, networking opportunities, and the chance to relax in the sunshine.

We, at the Pakistan Welfare Association, appreciate your impact in the local community and hope that it continues for a long time.”
