Asma Aziz, CEO of Slough CVS, spoke at the NAVCA Conference 26 panel in Birmingham, addressing the impact of racism, discrimination, and extremism on the voluntary and community sector.

Reflecting on the event, Asma Aziz said she was honoured to contribute to the important discussion and proud to represent Slough as a community where diversity continues to be a major strength.

She highlighted the importance of bringing communities together and reinforcing collective resilience through strong local partnerships, particularly in standing united against the influence of far-right ideologies.

“As a sector, we have a responsibility to challenge division, support our communities, and champion inclusion,” she said. “Now more than ever, collective action across sectors is essential.”

Asma Aziz also encouraged continued collaboration among organisations and individuals committed to tackling discrimination and building stronger, more inclusive communities, commenting: “If you are committed to this work, let’s connect and continue the conversation.”
