Slough CVS receives funding boost for WAM Get Involved

Slough CVS is delighted that thanks to securing over £28k from six new sources of funding, it is able to continue serving the voluntary sector in the Royal Borough through its WAM Get Involved project.

WAM Get Involved promotes greater community involvement across the Royal Borough, working across Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead to build capacity within the voluntary sector with regular information, consultations, networking meetings and workshops.

Jamie Green, Chairman at Slough CVS said, “Slough CVS has been working in the Royal Borough since 2014 and thanks to new funding from the National Lottery Awards for All, Berkshire Community Foundation, The Prince Philip Trust Fund, Windsor and Maidenhead Christian Trust, Radian and Tesco Bags of Help, the WAM Get Involved project can continue to provide voluntary groups in Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead with free training, the provision of funding information and advice and its voluntary sector forums.”

Jon Yates, Chief Operating Officer at Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) said “Everyone at Berkshire Community Foundation has been amazed at the way the voluntary sector has responded to the needs of local communities and vulnerable people in this crisis.  As a funder we feel the role Slough CVS and WAM Get Involved has played shows how important a joined up voluntary sector is to our collective welfare.  The work continues and we wish you success.”
