Rosanne Naicker,  Community Champions Planner at Slough CVS, recently presented at the UK Anguilla Community Meeting 2023, held at the Curve in Slough.  Slough is home to the largest Anguillan community outside of the Caribbean main island. The meeting was hosted by Dr Ellis L. Webster, Hon. Premier of Anguilla and The Hon. Haydn Hughes, Minister of Tourism and Infrastructure.

Rosanne discussed the importance of ‘health champions’, who champion healthy living, improving mental wellbeing or attaining better living conditions for their peers. Information is key in making healthier choices.  Through community events like this, Slough CVS are able to deliver information on seasonal illness, vaccines,  social prescription and available resources for cost of living.  Community involvement allows us to reach the whole community,  helps reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.
