Knit Your Socks Off a Slough based knitting and crochet group are honoured to have been able to create a display for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The display is in the Global Education Trust Book shop located in The Observatory Shopping Centre in the High Street Slough and features a life size ‘Tommy’ soldier and Red poppy’s that commemorate the 314 soldiers that lost their lives in WW1 and WW2 who were from Slough. As
well as Purple, black and white poppy’s all loving made by the ladies from Knit Your Socks Off supported by the amazing team at  Slough BID. The display also features a QR code where you are able to make a donation directly to the Poppy appeal

Co Founder of Knit Your Socks Off Sbba Siddique said: “Wearing a red poppy was inspired by the fields of poppies that grew where many of the battles were fought. Remembrance Day honours those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and our way of life and we stand unted across faiths, cultures and backgrounds to remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.  Remembrance does not glorify war and
its symbol, the red poppy, is a sign of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future”
