This week, in partnership with Spine PCN, Viva Slough launched the Wexham Neighbourhood Wellbeing Hub at Upton Lea Community Centre in Slough – and it was an incredible success!
Viva Slough welcomed over 100 local residents who actively participated in a vibrant fitness session, engaged with health and wellbeing resources, and connected with vital service providers, including the Immunisation Team and Solutions 4 Health.
This pilot initiative is the first step in our journey to build a community-led hub that empowers residents to live healthier, more connected lives.
We’re focusing on moving from treatment to prevention, tackling key challenges such as:
✔️ Reducing the proportion of life spent in ill-health
✔️ Combating social isolation and supporting mental wellbeing
✔️ Promoting health literacy and encouraging early intervention
✔️ Empowering individuals to take charge of their health
This initiative is part of a wider ambition to embed neighbourhood health—where integrated working across sectors is the norm and underserved communities are fully supported in accessing care.
Amandeep Mangat, Project Manager at Viva Slough said: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. This is just the beginning.”
