This week, we were delighted to welcome Helen Buckland, Refugee and Asylum Seeker Lead at Slough Borough Council, to 29 Church Street for an insightful workshop titled Understanding and Supporting Refugees and Asylum Seekers. With valuable input from Louise Sprackling, Chair of Trustees for Slough Refugee Support, the workshop was warmly received by attendees and a huge success.

Reflecting on the workshop, Helen said:

“It was great to see such a good turnout of people interested in finding out more about Slough’s refugee and asylum seeking communities. Slough has a long history of offering sanctuary to those who need it, something which continues today. Slough’s strengths lie in both its diversity and its community, and there is an opportunity to embrace both through our support of those who make the town their home.”
