We were delighted to celebrate the grand opening of the PWA Rain Garden in Slough Chalvey today — a wonderful milestone for our community and a fantastic example of what can be achieved when people come together.

The rain garden has been designed to naturally manage rainwater, reduce the risk of local flooding and create a vibrant habitat for pollinators and wildlife. Planted with native, drought-tolerant plants, it also provides residents with a peaceful space to relax, connect with nature and enjoy the outdoors.

Cllr Satti, Project Lead, said:

“We are delighted to open this rain garden for the community. It is a practical step towards creating a greener, more resilient and beautiful environment, while reminding us of our responsibility to care for our planet. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this project in Slough Chalvey.”

The project was made possible through the fantastic support and collaboration of SpongeBall, Slough Borough Council, WWT, Cardo, Andy, Aya, Cllr Satti and our amazing volunteers.

🌱 The rain garden is now open, and community members are warmly invited to visit and enjoy this new green space.
