The Slough Community Forum End of Year celebration took place at Arbour Park Stadium this week. With an attendance of approximately 200 people, it was a fantastic event and a great opportunity for community organisations to network with partners and meet potential volunteers.Slough CVS’s CEO, Ramesh Kukar opened the event with Kinder Bassi, Carers Support Manager and Asma Aziz Head of Capacity Building. Thank you to Cllr James Swindlehurst, Leader of Slough Borough Council who thanked the voluntary and community sector for their valuable contribution, providing much-needed support at this challenging time when people are experiencing the pressures of the high cost of living. The day was closed with a fantastic performance by the Marish Primary School Choir group, inspiring many of our partners and community groups to sing along to Christmas carols!
On the day, we received 100% overall positive feedback, with comments including: “This is the best networking session I have been to”, “I took away so much information” and “I am here today because I want to volunteer for my community” .Credit and thanks go to the support and stands of our voluntary and community organisations and of course the volunteers.
