Article by Samina Hussain, Founder at Sakoon Through Cancer
We’re celebrating two incredible years of the Roti Club, an innovative supper club created by and for women of colour affected by cancer, their carers, and the healthcare professionals who walk beside us. This space is where purpose is built, voices are heard, and laughter cuts through even the toughest moments.
Together, we’re rewriting what support, sisterhood, and strength look like.
This week wasn’t just an event, it was a celebration of life, resilience, and the community that keeps Sakoon Through Cancer moving forward.
Thank you to everyone who has lifted, loved, and supported our mission.
A special thank you to the Slough Mayor Cllr Doughty for endorsing our work and recognising the power of community support and overcoming adversity.
We were truly enchanted by Ahfia Ullah (Holding Hearts Therapy) for guiding us into personal safe spaces, and inspired by Sabina Begum (Limitless24) whose movement, energy, and laughter empowered change in the room.
