This week Knit Your Socks Off had the pleasure of being guests of the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire Mr Andrew Try at the first Unsung Heroes of Berkshire Garden Party to celebrate the work of those in the county who quietly go about making their local communities a better place to live and work.

“It was such an honour to have Knit Your Socks Off recognised in this way and it is a testimony to the incredible contribution of our volunteers who give their time so generously that makes each and every project we do such a success spreading wooly love one stitch at a time.”

We were also privileged to witness the presentation of British Empire Medals, awarded on behalf of His Majesty The King, to recipients from the New Year’s Honours List.

It was a truly wonderful afternoon spent among so many incredible heroes—seeing some familiar faces but also making some new friends. A day to remember!
