Mental Health Awareness Week – Green Social Prescribing is not a “nice to have” — it’s essential

This week, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, our Slough CVS team and volunteers took a well-earned wellbeing walk at Cliveden, creating space to pause, reflect, and recharge. The bear in the photo symbolises how hibernation is vital to restoring energy, and a reminder that rest is essential to keep going!

Our volunteers and team give so much to our communities every day. Taking time to support their own wellbeing matters just as much.

With so many beautiful green spaces in and around Slough, the opportunity is right on our doorstep — and the impact on mental health is real.

Thank you to Community Calm’s Meena Kalsi for the suggestion and to the team at Cliveden for guiding us — a simple idea with real impact!

Let’s do more to prioritise green social prescribing, support our people, and invest in what truly makes a difference.
