New Slough Community Diagnostic Centre opens

A footpath leading to a new building in yellow brick, showing cycle parking. A sign is visible directing people to the Slough CDC, including a message that the nearest emergency department is at Wexham Park Hospital.
Patients across Slough and East Berkshire will benefit from quicker, easier access to vital tests with the official opening of the Slough Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
The new £25 million centre is part of a national NHS programme to improve access to diagnostic services and a key milestone in Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust’s 2030 vision for modern, inclusive and connected healthcare.
The centre will deliver up to 150,000 additional tests each year, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X ray, lung function and blood tests. Open seven days a week, the service is designed to reduce waiting times, bring care closer to home, ease pressure on hospitals, including Wexham Park and will support GPs and community clinics so urgent patients are cared for more rapidly.
