NHS Frimley’s EDI Conference Inspires Action on Inclusion and Equality Across Health and Social Care

The EDI Health and Social Care Annual Conference, brought together by NHS Frimley, created a space for meaningful dialogue on how we can embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion into both organisational and everyday practice.

The day featured a powerful presentation by Alice Mopofu-Coles on “Embracing Diversity to Overcome Inequalities”, along with workshops focused on Cultural Intelligence, Tackling Prejudices, and Inclusive Leadership. A panel chaired by Safina Nadeem sparked challenging conversations on our experiences as inclusive leaders, complemented by further dialogue on Confronting Racism with Courage.

In the afternoon, workshops explored Allyship and Advocacy, Intersectionality, and LGBTQAI+ inclusion, prompting reflection on accountability that extends beyond the conference room.

Asma Aziz, CEO of Slough CVS, said, “A very insightful day bringing together powerful conversations around the challenges we face today and how we can work together to challenge and break down barriers, including racial tensions and inequalities.”

We acknowledge that this work is ongoing, but we can empower our allies to stand up to racism and support one another in creating more inclusive environments.
