Two mini health information sessions were run this week by #OneSlough, in partnership with Solutions4Health.
On Wednesday, the #OneSlough team, led by Rosanne Naicker, Slough CVS, hosted a health information day at Slough Refugee Support (SRS) to raise awareness of Diabetes, healthier eating choices, High Blood pressure, Healthy hearts and exercise. There was a wonderful turnout of SRS members and passersby.
Slough Healthy Smiles provided a talk on good oral health and gave demonstrations on how to take better care of our teeth. The children loved brushing the giant teeth and were rewarded with toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Health and Wellbeing Slough brought along their mobile clinic and had a constant steam of people asking for health checks and advice.
Another session took place on Thursday with group, Rise and Shine. Health and Wellbeing Slough delivered a health talk to the social group’s attendees.

Rosanne said, “It was a pleasant afternoon talking to the ladies from Rise and Shine on what is important to their health and finding ways of working together to have a healthier community, we look forward to future wellbeing sessions.”
