On Thursday, Pakistan Welfare Association (PWA) Slough hosted a vibrant National Day celebration at their community centre in Chalvey, attracting hundreds of local residents together for a day of festivities.

The event was filled with activities for all ages, including live music, face painting, and stalls offering women’s clothing, jewellery, and a variety of other goods. SCVS’s Wellbeing at Home project, led by Shahid Qazi provided essential information and advice on energy saving, slow cooking, and carbon monoxide awareness, while Orooj from the SCVS Community Connectors’ team shared details of the services with attendees.

PWA Secretary Shaida Akbar and the event organisers expressed heartfelt thanks to the Slough community for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the day a success.

She said: ““As we reflect on our nation’s journey, let’s work together to overcome challenges and build a brighter future. Let’s pray for peace in the world.
