Pakistan Welfare Association Slough hosted a successful Pakistan Independence Day 2026 celebration, welcoming a record turnout from across Slough and surrounding areas.

Despite the hot weather, the event was filled with community spirit, pride and unity. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant program including prayers led by Iman Waris from Ujala, a nasheed by Malik Bhai, and a live qawwali performance by Ustad Amir.

Guest speakers included PWA President Abdul Sattar, who spoke on the sacrifices of our forefathers, Zahid Raja on representing Pakistani values, Cllr Satti on Pakistani heritage, Shaida Akbar  Trustee who highlighted PWA’s community work, and Mayor Cllr Rafiqat who praised the contribution of the Pakistani community to Slough’s diversity.
