Rosanne said, “I have been working with Slough Refugee Support, learning of the great work they do, though my Community Champions role at Slough CVS.  I found out that they don’t just find ways to provide food, accommodation, and jobs for those who have lost everything, they provide a support system for those who have been turned away from the lives they once knew.  The group becomes their family, helping their clients to overcome obstacles while trying to settle into a new life.

With the help of the Slough Together Walk, I was able to join in and raise funds, thanks to friends and family who sponsored me and I managed to raise £250. It was a lovely day out — a great scenic route, fantastic weather and when I arrived back, I was greeted with a BBQ, music, and a cheer from the volunteers.  I’ll be joining in again next year, as I think it’s a great community event.”

Well done Rosanne!
