Last Friday, Asma Aziz of Slough CVS, alongside Rob Deeks and Rosa Hopkins of Together as One, presented to a gathering of over 50 Slough Schools Head Teachers and Leaders at the “Creating the Conditions for Inclusive Schools” Conference.

Asma emphasised the need for stronger school-community ties for inclusive support. Rosa and Rob talked about Together As One’s creative methodologies of supporting schools to help young people develop self-confidence and talk about identity and difficult emotions.

The afternoon workshop featured an interactive quiz on Slough’s communities, led by Rob.  Asma helped to spark discussions on challenges faced by schools. The focus was on how communities could contribute to finding solutions to these challenges.

The joint effort of Slough CVS and Together as One, highlights the voluntary sector’s role in providing inclusivity and positive change in Slough’s education landscape.
