Slough Youngsters Enjoy Jubilee Riverside Centre Summer Activities

This summer has seen a raft of watersports for local Slough children to engage with, including rowing, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, and rafting. We had the privilege of rowing with Slough’s British Rowing Coach Jamie and Coach Murray Litvak, fresh back from the 2024 Olympics and heard from Nutritionist Bradley Wren who taught us about different food groups, explained why junk food is okay once a week but not every day, and revealed that margarine and spreadables are literally one molecule away from plastic! Bradley also talked about the benefits of slow cookers, and to top it off, we gifted each young person a slow cooker along with ingredients for a meal for a family of 4 to prepare for the next day when they aren’t with us.

Jamie Green, Director S.W.I.P.E said: “It’s been a privilege to work with these amazing Slough young people, some of them have come on so much over the last week, from saying they can’t do it to being the fastest in the group, progressing people onto more difficult boats and for some just getting on the water was the challenge.”
