On Thursday 1 June, we were delighted to welcome 35 people from 27 different voluntary sector organisations to our WAMGI forum at the Maidenhead Gurdwara, in our first face-to-face meeting since before Covid. Thanks to the generosity of Mr Karnail Pannu and his helpers who provided an excellent buffet lunch and a very welcoming environment.The forum provided the perfect opportunity to network, renew old acquaintances and make new contacts, in an agenda-free forum and the unanimous feeling at the end of the afternoon was that we should continue with face-to-face forums so far as possible, as these are by far the best means of sharing ideas and concerns, forging working partnerships and finding ways to plug the gaps in both statutory and voluntary sector services for the improved benefit of RBWM’s communities. Comments from the forum included “fantastic venue”, “great to see people in person again”, “fabulous food”, “great networking opportunity” and “I have made some really good connections today!”.
